Egemin AGV's

rml are celebrating another win on the warehouse automation front with another Egemin AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) system ready for installation into the Dairy industry in New Zealand. rml are finding that the interest in AGV systems is rapidly increasing in Australasia due to increased safety awareness, lowering automation costs and trend to multi shift operations. Additional advantages often not realised when investing in an automated warehousing solution, are the elimination of mistakes and automatic tracking and tracing of product and pallets. This is because an AGV system is normally not only a self guided vehicle with a manipulation device, but a fully integrated logistics system capable of automatically managing most logistics functions. Examples of these include cheese ripening facilities in Europe where the AGV’s warehouse management system knows the recipes, the different room temperatures, and locations of all cheeses in the facility, and will turn, move and transport them all as required.
